On Times New Roman

For the record, it's not just me:

When Times New Roman appears in a book, document, or advertisement, it connotes apathy. It says, “I submitted to the font of least resistance.” Times New Roman is not a font choice so much as the absence of a font choice, like the blackness of deep space is not a color. To look at Times New Roman is to gaze into the void.
If you have a choice about using Times New Roman, please stop. Use something else. See font recommendations for other options.
Did you make your business cards and letterhead at your local copy shop? No, you didn’t, because you didn’t want them to look shoddy and cheap. If you cared enough to avoid the copy shop, then you care enough to avoid Times New Roman. Times New Roman connotes apathy. You are not apathetic.

Video Series: Obsessives

This series by the magazine Chow is a great example of good interviewing (useful for the prologue assignment) as well as of good short films related to food (useful for the video assignment).

(We watched the "Cheese" video in class; I highly recommend the "Soda Pop" and "Pizza" videos.)

Storyboard Resources

StoryboardThat is a site that appears to be helpful.

In our "Course Materials" folder, there are several Google Drive templates for making a storyboard that you might use. Please make sure to make a copy of the documents for your own use--don't enter your materials on the original document.

If you choose to draw the storyboard by hand, Pius Library has scanners on the first floor which you can use to scan the images into PDF format for uploading to Drive.
